Once you've marked an 11+ practice paper, the score is only the starting point. The real value is the next step: work out which skills the lost marks are concentrated in, then target those before anything else.
A mark answers "how many?"; a proper analysis answers "what next?". Two children on 31/40 can have completely different problems: one weak on percentages, another losing marks to careless slips or running out of time.
Go through the paper and sort every wrong answer by skill. A Maths 31/40 might break down as arithmetic 88%, fractions 80%, percentages 45%, problem solving 72% — which tells you the next step is percentages, not "do another Maths paper".
Then address that single biggest gap with a short, focused lesson or a few targeted questions, and re-test on that skill to confirm it's closed — rather than automatically handing over another full paper.
What to do: classify every wrong answer, group by skill, find the largest recurring cluster, teach that skill, then re-test.
This is exactly the loop Smart Papers automate: enter the answers, get a topic breakdown, and jump straight to the free Learning Centre lesson for the weakest skill.
