Split alternates! Odd positions climb 1,2,3; even fall 10,9,8. Next (position 7, chain A) = 4.
Famous family! They’re 1², 2², 3², 4² → next is 5² = 25.
Two simple sequences braided alternately: 1, 10, 2, 9, 3, 8 is 1-2-3 climbing woven with 10-9-8 falling — the next term is 4.
Square numbers (1, 4, 9, 16, 25), doubling (2, 4, 8, 16, 32) and triangular numbers (1, 3, 6, 10, 15) cover most 11+ surprises.
